John Cockerill India Limited has secured a ₹800 million order from Tata Steel to supply advanced plant infrastructure for its Jamshedpur Tinplate Division in Jharkhand.
The contract includes the engineering, design, manufacturing, and supply of a new Pickling Line and Acid Regeneration Plant (ARP). It also covers supervision of erection and commissioning to ensure the project meets performance standards. John Cockerill will deliver all critical components for the push-pull pickling line and ARP, which are crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability at Tata Steel’s tinplate facility.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-2027. John Cockerill India clarified that the contract has been secured on an arm’s-length basis, with no promoter or promoter group involvement with Tata Steel.
This partnership highlights Tata Steel’s continued investment in upgrading technology and infrastructure, while strengthening John Cockerill’s role as a key engineering solutions provider to India’s steel sector.
