Rio Tinto has reached a major iron ore export milestone, shipping 8 billion metric tonnes from its Pilbara operations in Western Australia over six decades. The achievement highlights Pilbara’s key role in global iron ore supply and the steel value chain. The company is also advancing the Rhodes Ridge project, which could support future high-grade iron ore growth and strengthen medium-term Pilbara output plans.
