The Railways have placed an order for ₹957 crore with Jupiter Waggons Ltd, a mobility solutions provider, for the production and delivery of 2,237 BOSM waggons. These waggons are made specifically to move large materials like iron ore and coal.
The company's order book, which was valued at more than ₹7,000 crore, was reinforced by the contract.
Jupiter Waggons recorded a total net profit of ₹81.46 crore for the third quarter of 2023–24, an 82% increase over the ₹44.59 crore earned during the same time in the previous fiscal year.
In October-December, revenue from operations was ₹895 crore, up from ₹879 crore in the same quarter the previous year.
