JSW Steel posted a solid production performance in FY26, with consolidated crude steel output rising 8% year-on-year to 30.14 million tonnes from 27.79 million tonnes in FY25. Its Indian operations produced 29.25 million tonnes, while the Ohio unit in the US contributed 0.83 million tonnes. For the fourth quarter, consolidated production stood at 7.43 million tonnes, reflecting the impact of the ongoing blast furnace upgrade at Vijayanagar. The company said Indian operations ran at about 87% capacity utilisation during the quarter, or nearly 96% excluding the affected BF-3 capacity. JSW Steel also strengthened its production base with the Salem unit upgrade commissioned in February 2026, lifting capacity from 1 million tonnes per annum to 1.15 million tonnes per annum. In addition, production from JSW Sambalpur Steel has now been included following the Bhushan Power and Steel business transfer in late March. The latest numbers highlight JSW Steel’s resilience, expansion focus, and strong positioning in India’s steel growth story.
