Bihar's government presented a ₹2.79 lakh crore budget for fiscal year 2024-25 to the assembly on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, stated at the budget presentation that 2.5 crore people in the state were able to escape poverty in the current fiscal year, 2023–24. According to Choudhary, who holds the finance portfolio, the state's growth rate for the current fiscal year was 10.64%.
