A major fire broke out at Power Plant-2 of the Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh after an explosion in the 25 MW turbine section, triggering panic inside the facility. Five people, including two regular employees and three contract workers, were injured in the incident. Officials said the fire was later brought under control, while the injured received medical attention and were reported stable. The exact cause of the blast and the extent of damage are still being assessed, with an investigation now underway. The incident has once again put the spotlight on industrial safety and emergency response at one of India’s key steel manufacturing hubs.
